Yves De Mey's musical path consists of many different roads. During the second half of the 90's, his releases were clearly rooted in breakbeats and drum'n'bass. Soon after that, through working for theatre, dance performances and doing large scale sound installations, his interest in experimental sound design found its way into his music. Nowadays, De Mey's main tool is his ever-expanding modular synthesizer system; an obsessive cable-patched shaping of the real sound of electricity. With releases on Line, Sandwell District, Modal Analysis and many other prolific labels already in the bag, De Mey released his latest album ‘Drawn With Shadow Pens’ on Spectrum Spools last year. The name of the album is an 100% accurate description of its content. For Intonal, De Mey will be drawing shadows with his electric pens in the old water tower in Pildammsparken.
