Ambient Assembly (SingSang), 17:30–22:00 (free entrance)
One of the primary goals of the Intonal festival is to do something completely matchless for the residents in Malmö while at the same time showcasing the cities possibilities to an international audience. But how do you exhibit a city that is run by the reluctant and unenthusiastic? In Malmö, the answer has always been: Do it yourself. This year, we dreamed of high towers but when dull opposition came in our way we refused to give up. Instead, we decided to turn to the very heart of DIY culture. Ambient Assembly will be an opportunity for local and international artists to meet and perform together under the shared banner of Intonal and Kontra-Musik. We’re going to have ourselves a family gathering, bursting with ambient and electronica, and everyone’s invited.

S:t Johannes Church, 19:30-22:00 (free entrance)
The Intonal festival is a sacred event for every music aficionado – from near and far! It’s a joyful yet serious occasion, and that calls for something out of the ordinary. The last three years, we’ve worked together with Svenska Kyrkan, or the Church of Sweden, to create world class experimental concerts with the imposing acoustics and solemn ambiance of a grand old church. For this edition of Intonal, we’ll return to the striking Jugend church of S:t Johannes, where Charlemagne Palestine and Ellen Arkbro will both make use of the great church organ. This will surely be a memorable evening. Please note that this event is free and open for everyone so do yourself a favour and turn up in good time for the concerts.

Klubb Istiden, Thursday, 21:30-01:00, Inkonst, The Bar
As Intonal keeps growing and getting more and more international exposure, it’s extremely important for us not to lose touch with vibrant music scene in the region. After all, some of Europe's finest DJs and performers in their field live here. A few of these will act as DJs during the festival, as always, but this year Jonas Pedersen from resident Inkonst club Istiden has also curated a smorgasbord filled with predominantly local delicacies:

Red Light Radio
One of the most positive experiences of last year’s Intonal was our collaboration with Red Light Radio, an online radio station and international music platform based in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Since 2010 RLR broadcasts daily shows of local and international artists, does parties & concerts and collaborations with festivals, museums & other cultural partners all over the world. Last year, RLR was acting as a sort of social hub for the festival right smack in the middle of Inkonst, broadcasting and curating part of the programme. We see no reason to change this setup whatsoever. We’ll see you all there!

Mokira presents Slumbering Sounds and Drowsy Drones
A world premiere featuring Andreas Tilliander aka Mokira. Slumbering Sounds and Drowsy Drones is partly composed in Andreas’ own studio and partly at EMS, the famous Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm. There will be much room for improvisations though, both via the hands of Mokira himself during this six-hour live performance but also through analogue random generators set up to engage the composed piece in a musical way. The aim is to produce a musical environment in which the public will be captivated enough not to fall asleep, but at the same time thoroughly soothing, creating a half-conscious dreamlike state. If you do fall asleep, though, Mokira hopes to alter your dreams through his music.
This will be a unique and limited ‘Sleeping concert’ requiring a special ticket. The concert will be performed live between Sunday 24.00 and 06, Monday morning. Breakfast will be included in the ticket price. Please visit our web for more information on what is is required.
